Crock Pot Pork Chops (with gravy)
This easy recipe for Crock Pot Pork Chops is so delicious! The pork chops come out so tender. Serve gravy over mashed potatoes!
THE MOST TENDER PORK CHOPS EVER!
This crock pot pork chops are perfect for busy weeknights and requires very little prep time. We are huge pork chop lovers in my family so I am always looking for different ways to make them. This recipe is an all time favorite! I especially love the gravy. You can whip up some mashed potatoes (from scratch or from a box or the microwave – I’m not judging!) to serve with these and you have a whole meal!

I cooked this recipe for the first time. It was the best pork chops, tender and delicious. I will definitely be cooking this again!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
I like the bone-in pork chops for this recipe. I find that it really gives this dish a lot of flavor but if you prefer boneless you can certainly do that. But I definitely do not recommend a thin cut pork chop. Just be careful when taking them out when they are finished cooking. The meat will be very tender so I like to scoop them out with a spatula.
My absolute favorite side dish with this is mashed potatoes. Rice or egg noodles are also good. I also like to serve it with some steamed vegetables. (like broccoli or carrots) and maybe some Butter Swim Biscuits!
I don’t recommend cooking on high. The meat will not come out as tender. Cooking it low and slow will ensure fall-apart tender pork chops.
You can pretty much us any cream soup your family enjoys. Cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, cream of onion, cream of mushroom and chicken will all work here.
You could definitely season with pepper but I don’t recommend salt as there is enough salt in the other ingredients.
Where applicable, you could certainly substitute with those options. I prefer low sodium options here because we’re also using packets of pork gravy and onion soup mix which also have sodium in them.
It’s totally optional but I really think the gravy works better when thickened.
I find this recipe works better in an oval slow cooker instead of a round one. The chops cook more evenly.
Store leftovers in an airtight container and put into the refrigerator. Eat within two days. I don’t recommend freezing leftovers.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)
- bone-in pork chops – I really think bone-in is the way to go. They are sometimes the cheaper cut but that bone adds flavor and keeps them from drying out.
- garlic powder – I only use garlic powder and sometimes a bit of pepper. You do not need to add any salt as the other ingredients already have salt added to them. Be careful if you decide to use a seasoning blend as most will have salt added to them as well.
- onion soup mix – if you aren’t a fan of the onion soup mix, you can leave it out and just season with a bit of onion powder.
- chicken broth – I highly recommend low or no sodium options. The other mixes have plenty of salt in them. You can always add salt in but you can’t take it out.
- cream of chicken soup – again, if you have any sensitivity to salt or are worried this will be to salty for your taste buds, get a low or no sodium cream of chicken soup.
- dry pork gravy mix – I think this is a stand out ingredient compared to most crock pot pork chop recipes. It amps up the pork flavor since the other ingredients we are using have more of a chicken flavor.
- corn starch and water – this is just to thicken the gravy. If you don’t want your gravy thickened, then skip this step.

HOW TO MAKE TO MAKE CROCK POT PORK CHOPS:
In a 5-6 quart slow cooker, combine onion soup mix, chicken broth, cream of chicken soup and pork gravy mix. Whisk together until combined. Don’t worry about any lumps, they will go away during cooking. Season both sides of the chops with a little bit of garlic powder.

Place pork chops into the slow cooker. Do your best to spread them out and cover with the gravy mixture. Cover and cook on low about 4-6 hours

Just before the pork chops are done. Whisk together the corn starch and cold water in a small bowl.

Once it is smooth, pour it in with your pork chops in the slow cooker and stir gently. Cover and switch the slow cooker to high and cook for another 30 minutes (until gravy has thickened.) Then serve with mashed potatoes!

Notes
- This is one of those fix-it and forget it type crock pot recipes. It helps to have a digital crock pot these days. You can cook it for a certain amount of time so and then it will automatically go to a keep-warm setting.

Hi George, I have a bunch of recipes “for two” on my site. Here is a recipe for Crock Pot Pork Chops for Two 🙂 https://www.thecountrycook.net/crock-pot-pork-chops-for-two/
THANK YOU
can you use beefy laptop onion mix instead of regular onion mix?
If you think those beef flavors would taste well with this and that is your thing – go ahead and give it a try! I’ve personally never done it so I can’t tell you from experience:)
My family loves these!
Love this recipe. Have used it with modifications (baby bella mushrooms) and is a huge hit with the family.
Ive used this recipe over and over throughout the years..its amazing
Is there a specific reason you don’t recommend thin pork chops, because that is all I have on hand?
They can come out tough
Any advice on how to adapt this recipe to an instant pot? My schedule today just doesn’t work for the crockpot, lol.
I haven’t tested it in the instant pot, sorry. I’m sure you can google other similar recipes for the instant pot
Delicious!! Made these with boneless pork chops. This recipe is definitely a keeper!
Thanks so very much Kim!
I LOVED these pork chops, I cooked them for 4 hours, and I used 6 pork chops instead of 4, I used 2 cans of cream of chicken, 1 and 3/4 cup of chicken broth, 1 package of onion soup mix and 1 package of less sodium pork gravy mix as I already had the cream of chicken soup in my pantry but it was not low sodium. Just freaken delicious!!! Thank you so very much for this recipe! Will definitely do it again! 10/10!!!!!
Easy and Yummy!!!!
Took your advice to use low/no sodium options (we’re both really trying to cut back) and it turned out perfectly!
Can you make on the stovetop on low?
I haven’t actually tested this on the stove top – I’m sorry! If you try it, please let me know how it goes for you!
I make this often
Thank you for an easy recipe that whole family including a picky kid loves
Love hearing that Deb – yay!! Thanks so very much for coming back to comment – it means so much!
Brandie…your “click here” button to sign up isn’t working as of 9/16. I made these pork chops today and my goodness they were amazing. I want more recipes…please fix the “click here” button lol!
Oh no! Thanks for letting me know Ben! Let me work on that!!
looks delicious im making it right now .can I add fresh mushrooms if so when should I add them..thanks
You can add them in at the beginning 🙂
I made the recipe exactly as written. My pork chops were on the thin side. I cooked them about 5 1/2 hrs. removed from the crockpot, stirred in the 3TBS cornstarch slurry and added the chops back in for a few minutes. The gravy was perfect!!
Everyone loved it, Thanks so much. Does this recipe freeze well?
I made this today, t was so tender and so good. I shared on fb and go so many comments about it wanting the recipe. It’s a keeper for sure.
looking to make this recipe soon. Can I use cream of mushroom soup.I like extra gravy!
Do you mean instead of the cream of chicken soup? Yes, you sure could
I made it tonight. Was out of cream of chicken soup so I used cream of mushroom soup. 6 boneless chops (not thin), 4 hours on low and then the 1/2 hr to thicken. Served with mashed potatoes. My new favorite go to! Delicious! Thank you!
Absolutely delicious pork!
I used homemade onion soup seasoning (thanks for the recipe) and pork tenderloin. Brandie you always come through with the best recipes! Your website is my go to!
Oh Macey! Thank you so much! I can’t tell you much that means to me! ♥️
I have been making this for years everyone loves it. try it with chicken. I brown the chicken then put it in oval crockpot and cover it with the other ingredients.
Can you do 2 packs of chops if so should you double all ingredients?
It depends on what you consider a pack? Do you mean a 4 pack or a 6 pack (or more?) It also depends on the size of crock pot you have and whether it’s large enough to properly accommodate doubling the recipe. If it’s not large enough, it won’t cook evenly. Do you want a lot of gravy? Are you sensitive to sodium because doubling the other ingredients could end up making it too salty for you. Lots of things to consider when asking about doubling.
Absolutely delicious! Thank you for a keeper recipe!
Really delicious. My wife couldn’t believe how tender they were.
Been waiting a long time for bone-in pork chops to be on sale. I immediately thought of this, tonight’s dinner. I have a board on my Pinterest as we scaled down to the 4-quart size & this is pinned.
I cooked this recipe for the first time . It was the best pork chops, tender and delicious. I will definitely be cooking this again.
Thanks so very much! I appreciate you coming back to comment! Always nice to hear when a recipe turns out well!
You can, you’ll be losing a lot of flavor though obviously
Do you think I could substitute a beef sirloin tip and beef broth in place of pork chops and chicken broth? I absolutely love this recipe but I’m out of pork chops and the family is asking for it!
Hi Maggie, I actually have a recipe for beef tips if you want to check that one out but it’s basically the same concept 🙂 https://www.thecountrycook.net/slow-cooker-beef-tips-with-gravy/
Excellent, excellent! All empty plates lol!
made this last week and it was a big hit in my house so they have requested it for tomorrow!
Technically yes but they won’t be as fall apart tender as when you’re able to cook them low and slow
