AM EASY SUMMERTIME PEACH DESSERT
I’m a huge fruit dumpling fan! If you’ve never given fruit dumplings a try then you are really missing out. These Easy Fresh Peach Dumplings are one of my favorite ones of all. I used my Easy Apple Dumplings as inspiration. It may seem like an odd combination but I promise it works! If you are wanting a deliciously peachy dessert, then you have to try this Easy Fresh Peach Dumpling Recipe!

You can use peeled peaches or unpeeled peaches, that is a personal preference. They soften as they bake. To peel peaches properly, add the peaches to boiling water for about 10-20 seconds to loosen the skin then place in an ice bath to stop the cooking process. Once cooled, use a pairing knife and gently peel away the skin, which should come off easily.
It adds sweetness to the overall dish but also thickens as it cooks down to help make a delicious sauce. You can use any lemon-lime soda you like (Sprite, 7-Up or even Mountain Dew).
We like to serve these with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped topping.
Yes you can. Look for the can that shows larger peach slices. This recipe can also be doubled and baked in a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Leftovers should be stored in a lidded container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)
- fresh peaches – See my FAQ (frequently asked questions) above on peeling if that is your preference but it’s not absolutely necessary as the skin will soften as it bakes.
- crescent rolls – you can use the store brand – it doesn’t have to be Pillsbury. It’s best to use the rolls instead of the crescent sheet but that will work too. You’ll just have to do some cutting.
- salted butter – this doesn’t make it salty – it just helps to cut the overall sweetness a little bit.
- sugar – I have not tried this with a substitute but I would think it would work.
- ground cinnamon – if you aren’t a fan of cinnamon, just leave it out. It really goes so well with the peaches though.
- flour – this is going to help thicken the sauce mixture.
- lemon lime soda – it can be any of your favorite lemon lime sodas (Mountain Dew also works great with this!)

HOW TO MAKE EASY PEACH DUMPLINGS:
Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray an 8-inch square pan with nonstick spray. Cut peaches into 8 slices total. (Note: it’s optional if you want to peel the peaches or not, they soften as they bake – see notes.) Unroll tube of crescent rolls and separate into 8 pieces. On each roll, sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon.

Add one peach slice to the larger end of the crescent roll. Roll it up into a little bundle. Continue with the rest of the rolls the same way. Place all 8 dumplings into prepared baking dish.

Whisk together melted butter with sugar, vanilla and flour. Pour butter mixture on top of crescent rolls bundles. Pour soda around the edges and in between the crescent rolls.

Sprinkle tops with a bit more cinnamon. Bake in preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes.

Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Easy Peach Dumplings (+Video)
Ingredients
- 2 fresh peaches
- 8 ounce tube crescent rolls
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (divided use)
- ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ Tablespoons flour
- ¾ cup lemon lime soda (like Sprite or Mountain Dew)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F degrees. Spray an 8-inch square pan with nonstick spray.
- Cut each peach into quarters (you should end up with 8 slices total). (Note: it's optional if you want to peel the peaches or not, they soften as they bake – see notes below)

- Unroll 8 ounce tube crescent rolls and separate into 8 pieces.
- On each roll, sprinkle with a pinch of cinnamon.

- Add one peach slice to the larger end of the crescent roll.

- Roll it up into a little bundle and tucking in the ends. Continue with the rest of the rolls the same way.

- Place all 8 dumplings into prepared baking dish (seam side down as best as possible).

- In a bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 1/2 Tablespoons flour.
- Pour butter mixture on top of crescent rolls bundles.

- Then pour 3/4 cup lemon lime soda around the edges and in between the crescent rolls.

- Sprinkle tops with a bit more cinnamon.

- Bake in preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes.

- Optional: serve topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes
- This recipe can easily be doubled, just use a 9″x 13″ baking pan.

- In addition, you could used canned sliced peaches for this as well.
- You can use any type of lemon-lime soda the you like, I used Sprite for this recipe.
- When pouring the soda over the peach dumplings, try to stick to the edges and middle and not pour directly over the dumplings themselves.
- This is “self saucing”. It will come out with a delicious thickened sauce at the end that you serve with the dumplings themselves.

Can I make this recipe two hours ahead as we are going out to dinner and home for dessert.

Love these! I’m planning on making them for a large Sunday lunch at my home and I wondered, can the peach dumplings be prepared the night before in the pan — just the peaches in the crescent dough–not the butter/sugar/vanilla mixture — and then at the time I want to bake them, melt the butter/sugar/vanilla together, pour over and add the sprite, bake etc? I just wasn’t sure if crescent roll dough can sit over night in a covered dish and still be okay to bake the next day? Thanks for your help.
Once you open the can of crescent rolls, they are basically activated. So what may end up happening is by the time you go to bake them, they may not fully puff up. So technically you could do it but I don’t think you get the same “puffiness” that you do when they are made up fresh. So happy you love these!
