Neiman Marcus Dip

When you need something to bring an appetizer, this Neiman Marcus Dip will be a huge hit. You only need a handful of pantry ingredients and everyone will love it!

THE PERFECT 10-MINUTE PARTY DIP

This Neiman Marcus Dip is like the Neiman Marcus Casserole. That casserole was actually inspired by this dip that used to be served at the cafe at Neiman Marcus locations starting in the 1950’s. It was a huge hit then and it’s a huge hit now! When you are unsure what to take to your next gathering, this is the one to make!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

My husband hates almonds and cream cheese, how do I still make this?

This recipe is probably not for you then. If it is one thing I have learned since starting this website 15 years ago is that so many husbands are (sadly) picky eaters and they don’t like nuts, coconut, onions, sour cream, cream cheese or any kind of vegetable other than potatoes – ha!
The almonds and cream cheese are both really integral to this recipe. You must make this with cream cheese, I do not have a substitute for that ingredient. Yes, you can leave the nuts out, but if the majority of people are ok with nuts, then please make it with nuts and let your hubby eat the other things because I guarantee all the women will love it! Maybe your husband will learn to go out of his comfort zone with this one. 🙂

What else can I add to this dip?

The seasonings are very simple. You could add a packet of ranch seasoning to this as well. You can add fresh jalapeños, pickled jalapeños, or pickles.

What can I serve with the dip?

Crackers, chips, and vegetables pair well with this dip..

Can I make the dip healthier?

Yes, you can choose turkey bacon, low-fat cheddar cheese, and Greek yogurt in place of the cream cheese.

Can you make this dip ahead of time?

Yes. I love making this the day before, so all the flavors come together.

How do you store leftover Neiman Marcus Dip?

You can keep this in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)

  • sliced or slivered almonds– The almonds are a signature part of these Neiman Marcus inspired recipes. They can be left out if you’re really are against almonds but they add a nice contrasting crunch. Toasting the almonds adds a nutty and warm flavor to the dip. You can use walnuts or pecans in place of the almonds. If you can’t make this with nuts, I really suggest another recipe that is similar like Million Dollar Dip.
  • thick-cut pre-cooked bacon– you don’t have to use precooked bacon, you could fry up some fresh bacon. I don’t know that I would use the packages of bacon pieces in this. I mean, you could but the crunchy texture of the bacon works best in those prepackaged bacon pieces are more soft and chewy. If using precooked bacon, you can pop it in the air fryer, microwave or a skillet for about 3 to 5 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and crumbly (directions will be on the back of the packaging)
  • cream cheese– softened to room temperature. Use these Tips to Soften Cream Cheese Quickly if you need them because you really want the cream cheese soft, as it will mix more easily with the mayonnaise.
  • mayonnaise– This will add a creamy and tangy flavor to the dip.
  • shredded sharp cheddar cheese – While sharp cheddar is my favorite for. this, you could use pepper jack for an extra kick.
  • sliced green onions
  • black pepper
  • hot sauce– this is an optional ingredient
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
Almonds, thick-cut pre-cooked bacon, cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, sliced green onions, black pepper, optional hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and assorted crackers.

HOW TO MAKE NEIMAN MARCUS DIP

To a small skillet, add the almonds over low to medium heat. Stir until they are just starting to turn slightly brown. You want to move them around while they toast so they don’t burn. Transfer them to a bowl immediately once they are golden brown. Note: This step is optional if you don’t like to toast your almonds. Heat the pre-cooked bacon until it is crumbly. You can do this in an air fryer or a skillet. Add the cream cheese and mayonnaise to a bowl. Mix until fully combined.

Add the remainder of the ingredients. You can keep a sprinkle of almonds, bacon, and green onions to the side to top the dip once it is all mixed together.  Mix with a spoon until all ingredients are well incorporated.

This was so good! Loved your comment about the picky husbands. Glad I got rid of mine! Me and the girls loved this & it’s so much more enjoyable when you don’t have a man in your ear complaining they don’t like something because they’re picky! I got tired of catering to that picky man & now he has to cook all his own meals! LOL!

    1. Honestly, it is sometimes frustrating when I see a comment start with “my hubby doesn’t like…” – how did we get so many picky men? And how come most women are not that same level of pickiness (there has to be a reason, right?) Ha! Also, I kinda feel like if you’re the pickiest eater in the house then maybe you should also be the main cook so you can cater to your own pickiness because it stresses many women out (especially since men and women both usually work full time jobs these days, it’s more stress, right?) & I don’t see the wives being able to eat all the food they really enjoy because they’re catering to the pickiest eater in the house (and food is such a joy in life!) But I do love seeing so many more men commenting these days that they do a lot of cooking, thankfully times are changing. I used to only get comments from women and now I see so many more from men and that is so heartening!
