FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

What else can I add to the Party Puffs?

You can sprinkle red pepper flakes or fresh herbs on top

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare them the day before and bake them just before serving. This is a great appetizer if you are serving a crowd, as you can have many ready-to-go baking sheets waiting in the fridge.  I like to make multiple batches of this appetizer and bake them throughout the night, replenishing each platter as it runs out.

Can I make these in the Air Fryer?

Yes, but you will definitely need to work in batches. You don’t have enough space in an Air Fryer basket like you do in the oven, so work in batches, don’t overcrowd them. Keep an eye on them as they bake so you don’t burn them. They’ll bake quickly.

How long do leftover Party Puffs last?

You can keep these in the fridge for up to 4 days.
You can freeze this dish in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
Reheat the leftovers in the microwave or in the oven at 350˚F until heated through.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE)

  • baguette– sliced. Use any of your favorite deli baguettes.
  • mayonnaise– I know, it sounds weird but I really need you to trust me. I use it in my Cheesy Garlic Bread recipe. You don’t even realize these have mayo in them. You don’t taste the mayo as a separate ingredient, it just makes the cheese super creamy. If you don’t like mayo, then this recipe isn’t for you because I have never found a good substitute for it unless you just want to leave it out. Sour cream just makes it too tangy. I suppose you could use butter but again, you’re really missing out on that creaminess if you try to swap it out.
  • parmesan cheese– the addition of Parmesan cheese adds a nice, salty flavor to the appetizer. If you don’t like Parmesan, you can use Romano or mozzarella.
  • garlic – I prefer using freshly minced garlic as it gives the absolute best flavor. I know using jarred garlic is easier and more convenient, but the fresh garlic is such a star in this recipe that it’s worth the little extra time to mince it up.
  • dried parsley– You can use dried or fresh parsley or skip it if you don’t have it on hand.

HOW TO MAKE PARTY PUFFS:

Preheat the oven to 400° F. Slice baguette into ½-inch slices and place each slice onto a large, parchment paper lined baking sheet. Set aside. To a bowl, add the mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, and minced garlic. Mix until combined.

A baguette being sliced and a mayo sauce mixture being mixed in a bowl.

Smear the creamy garlic sauce onto each slice of the baguette (doing your best to get it right to the edges.) Bake on the middle rack for about 10 minutes or until the bread is slightly toasted and the cheese is golden brown.
